Video & Quotes from the boss...
- Sarll on Wootton's impact from the bench...
“We have obviously waited quite long to be able to get Kyle into a position to affect the starting line-up or affect the game from the subs bench. Hopefully in the long run he provides real competition - and he does we can see that from today - he provides real competition to Danny, Matthew, Alex Samuel and Jamie Gray.
“You know my desire to acquire a big centre forward, one that can play a bit more physically, hold the ball up and bring others into play. That is what I have been waiting for the past 18 months and I thought he came on and did really well.
“So it just gives us another option, another ingredient and we have been proved right today because he has got the winner."
- Sarll on bouncing back from disapointing results with a win...
“Glenn called it quite brilliantly ‘a mini blip’, and whenever you have those little patches and periods, it is important you strip it back. People will use the term 'back to basics' - I don’t like that - but strip it back to what your plan is, the basis of your plan.
"I have to say the response from the players after last Saturday - during the week Monday to Friday - I have never seen a group of players work so aggressively and so hard. They knew my feelings very clearly after the Swindon performance and they responded.
"It was important that we saw that out and they grew that little bit of belief in their ability to be resilient."
- Sarll on Matty Godden back on the scoresheet...
“I think Matt, if I am not mistaken, had two really good chances before his actual goal.
“Matty looked so much more threatening today. We spoke in depth about his game this week, we spoke about his perception of what I am asking from him, and we work very hard together on the training field.
"No one was more delighted to see Matthew score than me, because he is a real thinker of the game and he takes a lot home with him. He doesn’t bank it at work and then come in the next day - he has a real care and passion for what he is doing, so I was really pleased."
- Sarll on seeing the game out at the end...
“I thought we saw the innocence of youth at the end there. I was there jumping around like a lunatic shouting ‘get out there and press the ball, keep pressing the ball,’ because we are not a massive side, we have got to stop the ball at the source, not the outcome.
"If you wait for the ball to drop at the outcome, normally we have some 'airy scary' moments.
"I thought Joe Fryer again was magnificent under pressure, I thought Terence Vancooten on his debut dealt with that scenario admirably, and they will be better off for that experience, absolutely."
