Congratulations...

Ben Wilmot has been nominated for the LFE League Two Apprentice of the Year at the upcoming EFL Awards 2018.

The award recognises the outstanding young professionals at EFL Clubs who excel both on and off the pitch.

Players registered as first or second year apprentices, or first year professionals (if he started on an Apprenticeship contract and then converted at 17 to a pro contract) are eligible for this award.

Judges will take playing records, educational attainments and disciplinary records into account, as well as any other outstanding achievements.

Wilmot joined the Stevenage Academy at 14 years old and has progressed through the system to become a First Team regular.

Impressive performances for the U18s throughout the season - particularly in the FA Youth Cup - resulted in an FA Cup debut against Championship side, Reading in January and he hasn't looked back since.

An England U19 call-up in March then capped off a stellar season for the 18 year old.

Also nominated alongside Ben is George Lloyd of Cheltenham and Jordan Ponticelli of Coventry City.

The EFL Awards 2018 take place on Sunday 15 April at the London Hilton on Park Lane.
