Video & Quotes from Dino Maamria ahead of Saturday's game...

  • Dino on a solid start to his tenure & looking ahead...

“You get to know the players every day, I spend as much time as possible with them, with the staff as well and I think the results are a reflection of that.

“It is about assessing everything now for next season.

“Obviously we still have got four games to go where we will try and push on to the top half of the table.

“Hopefully we can do that in the next two weeks and that would be a great finish to the season and we kick on for next season.

“When I took the job there was still fear of relegation, being 10 points away from bottom of the table and we knew that we had Barnet and Grimsby coming up.

“That could have been really tricky two games, but it was good to get the draw at Grimsby and it was good to get the win at Barnet followed by a Newport win.

“In my mind there was never any doubt about it, I have been in that situation before at clubs struggling.

“I think now it is about planning short term and long term, the short term is how we’re going to beat Cambridge on Saturday.

“And long term, look how we are going to get on next season as well, we have got to start planning for that from pre-season."

  • Dino on fond memories against Cambridge...

“We have a rivalry between Cambridge and Stevenage, we had it from non-league and we have got it now in the Football League.”

“I enjoyed great games against Cambridge, we have beaten them many times and we loved beating them.

“Saturday’s game will be a middle of the table encounter, but I am sure it is going to be an entertaining game and I will make sure we will be up for it.”

“I want everything. I want to entertain the fans and I want to win football matches.

“Stevenage Football Club is not a club where they are going to moan when we lose games, they will moan when they see the players not putting effort in.

“As long as we put everything we got on the pitch and the players show that they care about their performance, then we will be on the right path.

  • Dino on squad availability...

“On Tuesday I thought we lacked a little bit of energy, especially in the second half and it was understandable because I have not changed the team.

“Maybe I should have changed the team, but I did not want to as the team was doing well.

“Ben (Wilmot) has had a lot of interest and what is clear to me is that I do not think he will be here in the next two weeks.

"There is no point in risking his future so there is no value in playing him for the next few games.

“He is a top lad and a top professional. He is the best 18 year old I have ever come across and he is a terrific player. Any club who gets his signature will do well to get him because he is a great talent.

“Hopefully Ben Kennedy will be back. McKee is still doubtful, Jonathan Smith is still doubtful and Dean Bowditch is still out."
