Revs reflects...

  • Revell on first win of the season...

"We made it a bit difficult for ourselves in the first half. I think we didn’t quite get going for whatever reason. But, as in anything in football, as long as you’re still in the game, you can change.

We knew we had a few more gears to give. I think second half, apart from the goal, we probably could have scored a lot more. We finished the game happy.

Everyone involved, everyone who came on, everyone who started showed a real togetherness and showed what we’re going to be about this year. It’s a great start for us."

  • Revell on the first half being so different from the second…

"Sometimes in this league you have to get through those times. We’re away from home, and the important thing was to come in still in the game. 0-0 away from home at half-time, I’ll take that.

This is a difficult place to come I think, teams will struggle here. They want to keep the ball. We frustrated them first half, and obviously we could be better on the ball. We’re still learning, still a lot of new players, a new formation.

Half-time we regrouped, and came out and showed everybody what we’re about."

  • Revs on his two goals…

"It was a great ball from Reidy and I managed to get my head on it. Then Ferry came on, again magnificent. He put me in and it is nice when you’ve already scored. It takes the pressure off and you can just relax and finish it.

I was delighted for myself obviously. It’s a nice start, probably should have scored last week, unlucky not to score. This week it was a matter of getting the chances and taking them.

It’s not just that. We saw the game out, everybody worked so hard. The two centre halves, Timlin today was magnificent. We have a nice game on Tuesday away against stronger opposition. It’s a nice start, four points you’d have taken that, and we go again."
