After an unbeaten start to the season that lasted four games, defeat to Yeovil Town last Saturday was a real blow to the team as fatigue played its part in the 2-0 loss at Huish Park.
A 5-0 midweek win against Swansea U21s in the Checkatrade Trophy helped build up confidence again, as Kennedy (two) and Guthrie (three) ran riot in-front of goal.
Such was the level of performance that it moved Maamria to claim a number of the players involved on Tuesday would be drafted into Saturday’s starting XI.
The U’s have got off to a slow start this season with just one win from their opening five games. That came in their second match of the campaign, a 3-2 win at Notts County thanks to a last-minute Barry Corr goal.
Stevenage fans will know all too well about Barry Corr, the Cambridge frontman has a fearsome record against Boro in recent years including two goals in their last visit to the Lamex Stadium, back in April.
Coming into the game on the back of two straight defeats, Cambridge will be desperate for another derby win tomorrow as pressure mounts on the U’s once again.

It is believed Dino Maamria has an almost full squad to select from with just Michael Timlin unavailable following his red card at Yeovil last Saturday.
After an additional 60 minutes in the tank on Tuesday night, Danny Newton is expected to be back to almost full fitness following time out with a rib injury.

Historically speaking, only Goal Difference can seperate the two sides as a superior +5 GD just about edges Boro ahead of their local rivals.
It is a rivalry that has unfortunately been fairly one sided in recent seasons, with the U’s having won three of the last four games including one draw.
The last time Stevenage came out on top was in 2016 when Byron Harrison scored twice in a 2-0 home win.
