Great news...

Stevenage striker Danny Newton has signed a new and improved deal with the club.

After scoring 16 goals last season, Newton has now committed his future to the Boro with an extended contract.

Originally signed from Tamworth FC in June 2017, Nuneaton made an immediate impact in his debut campaign as he finished top goal scorer and Player of the Season.

“I am delighted to sign this deal and have it all sorted now,” Newton said. “The club have shown great faith in me and I had an incredible season last year.

“I am really encouraged both by the business done in the summer and our start to the season, so I am looking forward to having another great year.”

Stevenage boss Dino Maamria says that a new contract for Newton was always priority.

“Danny is one of our most important players, so it was always important for us to get his future nailed down. He is an excellent striker at this level and he has now been rightly rewarded for his performances at the club.

“Now he can knuckle down, recreate the form that he showed last season and help the team by doing what he does best.”

You can watch Danny and the boys next at home on Saturday 1st September for the derby visit of Cambridge United. Tickets are available both in-advance or on the day of the game.
