Video & Quotes from James Ball after the defeat at Norwich...

  • James Ball reflects on the game…

“It was a good learning curve for us all to be playing against a Championship team. I thought we did well for most parts of the game, we stuck to the game plan and you could see at the end of the first half it really paid off.

I thought we had a strong end to the first half but ultimately in the end, they showed their quality and got the two goals that one them the game.

We do a lot with our set plays, so it is disappointing to concede in that manor, from our point of view they were easy goals to stop so we will be disappointed with that.”

  • On that free kick…

“I’ve been practising them all week; Kurtis and I have been practising them in training.

The first, if I had put it more to the side it would have had a chance. Then the second one, I thought the keeper might think I would go the same side, so I switched it to the other side and it has gone in so I’m happy with that.

I’ve always fancied myself to take them, here I have come and practised, and I think the lads have seen me in training putting a few in the bushes.”

  • Looking forward…

“A win today would have been nice, but ultimately our main aim is to do well in the league. Everyone in the changing room wants promotion and that is what is being drilled into us.

Tonight was disappointing, but we switch our attention back to the league, and hopefully get a win next. There is a great bunch of lads, everyone is on the same page which is important. We are all going in the same direction, everyone wants promotion.

We will fight for that, which we have done in the last two home games. You look against Crawley, two late goals which showed we have got what it takes to grind games out that are difficult to get the win.”
