"We are going to be going into the game to win it. We will be full of confidence. Pre-season has gone very well for us and I think the manager has got out of it what he needed to, especially with all the changes to personel. We seem to have bedded in well.
"But we aren't taking it lightly. We know Tranmere are a very good team and are a sleeping giant, getting back to where they should be in my opinion.

"A bit of excitement, a bit of nervousness. There is a lot of adrenaline pumping through us at the moment.
"We have worked very very hard over the course of the six weeks, and everyone is looking forward to the first game of the season and it is always going to be a hot one.
"We just have to make sure we focus on what we need to do to, what the manager is asking us to work on and making sure we put our front foot forward and go from there and get the result that we should get."

"First and foremost - honest and we work hard, that is a given. There is no let up on that and we always play the right way when you can.
"I think it is those three things. If you can always make sure that you go into the game and are doing that first and foremost, it should stand you in good stead.
"Then you have got the players like Ben Kennedy who can open up a door with his own little key and we have got a number of players on the day that can win a game.
"So it is about trying to bring them to the party and making sure that we stay in the games that might be tough, and also take full advantage of the games that might come easier for us."
