Video & Quotes from Cuthbert after season opener...
- Cuthbert on the team not being at their best..
"I think looking at the game as whole, I don’t think we started well, I don’t think we did the things we were doing in pre-season. We got the two goals, two great goals from ‘Bally’ and ‘Jozza’ and that is where we just had to see that half out and not concede.
"We let them cut through us right through the middle, we weren’t narrow enough and they got a goal and got back into the game. That is disappointing because when you are not at it, you are maybe not firing on all cylinders."
- Cuthbert on adapting to a new squad...
"It was the first game of the season. You know there was a lot of new boys, you look at the back line, we have never really played in a competitive game together.
"So there is going to be things we need to improve on and work on. When you get leads, especially at home, I think it is important we hang on to them.
"But on the flip-side, we went down to ten men. 'Hunty’ has been sent off and we have done well to see out the game and keep that point.
"It is frustrating on one end, but it is a positive on the other. There are 15 new boys in this squad and a new coaching staff, so the new lads are still all gelling together and we have just got to keep working on things."
- Cuthbert on chances escaping us and looking forward...
"Newts missed a header at the end, we had a few set pieces and had a couple of good balls into the box that we could have maybe done better with.
"Overall we are going to be frustrated by being 2-0 up and letting it slip but there is a long way to go, another 45 games. We have not been at our best, we have not been fluent or kept the ball the way we should have, the way that we know we can, but we have got a point and it is something to build on.
"We are going to the Crawley game away from home and it will be a completely different game, a completely different set up. They have a manager that wants to play football so it will be a completely different game and we are looking to get three points and keep ticking on."
