Stevenage Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Steve Gatting as Assistant Coach.
The former Arsenal U23s coach officially joins up with Dino Maamria’s Management team ahead of Saturday’s game at Northampton.
“I am looking forward to it very much,” Gatting said. “I hope to use my coaching experience to help the gaffer, the players and the club move forward.
“My time with the group has been very positive so far and I am now excited about getting properly started amongst the busy Christmas schedule.”
Dino Maamria says that Gatting’s experience at Arsenal will see him take on some specific roles within the team.
“Steve will be our in-possession coach and will have a big influence on the younger players we are bringing through, too. He will be very helpful on the training pitch and will really develop us with our play when we have the ball.
“Using his experience of coaching at Arsenal, Steve will definitely add something to us and we welcome him to the football club. Hopefully we will be more creative and score more goals – that is what he is here for.”
