Video & Quotes from the boss following the defeat at Notts County...

  • Sarll on an opportunity missed...

“It's unbelievably frustrating. I thought for large parts of the game we controlled it. Obviously the six minutes and the two goals were an Achilles heel for us.

“I am quite pleased with the performance today but they have to understand that edge of winning and the penetration of their play in terms of attacking and possession.

“There is a very fine line between possession and penetration and we need to make sure we develop that.

“Saying that, I thought some of the young players showed great qualities out there and I felt quite comfortable and fairly solid."

  • Sarll on the goals conceded...

“There are two ways that you examine Notts County’s options to beat you and one of them is set-plays, one of them is definitely set-plays when you are a young side.

“It was an important area of the game and I am disappointed in the first goal because experienced players could and should have been better.

“I thought it we got the first goal today the place would have come down on their side and we would have kicked on again. For 80 minutes we were good without being great.

“Certain individuals did switch off, it is clear to everyone to see and that is disappointing because their work ethic up until that point was terrific."

  • Sarll on missing players and Ben Kennedy's first half injury...

“Matty (Godden), accompanied by his injury, had a bad illness during the week and had to spend 24 hours in hospital so his is more illness related now. We wish him well and hope to have him back next Saturday.

“Ben (Kennedy) is really struggling. Supporters should be careful when they become judge and jury on those situations because Ben is not in a great way and the things he was saying made me concerned enough to want to bring him off as early as we did.

“Ben was a real threat up to that point.

“Ronnie (Henry) I am not sure, but he will potentially be back next Saturday and they will be welcome additions to the squad.

“I was getting quite comfortable having a few players in the squad and then all of a sudden this week we are back to being on the line.

“We will kick on. The lads attitude has been good, we have just switched off in two key moments against a side that thrives on set plays.”
