Video & Quotes from the boss ahead of Saturday's big game...

  • Sarll on the new signings...

“I thought they started okay last week, obviously nothing is ever good, great or superb when you do not take a win out the game.

“But you could see why we waited so long for Alex Revell, more leadership, character and quality.

“He is still in good shape for 34 and Luke Amos has impressed me greatly since he signed from Tottenham.

“John Goddard is still three or four weeks away from being physically optimal, but I thought we saw flashes of his quality on Saturday.

“Bowditch obviously just needs time and fitness work, he has not had any sort of competitive football since October so he needs a bit of time and he needs progressive introductions into games.

“Obviously you have got the same for Sheaf when he returns, which is imminent.

“Joe White, who did not feature Saturday, has again impressed me greatly and he is proving to be very, very competitive in his willingness to try and make that bench.

“He is certainly giving me food for thought on daily basis, it has been a lovely surprise in terms of the competition at centre forward."

  • Sarll on our current position...

“I think we expect more, I do not think anyone is foolish to deny we expect more.

“But if you look at things logically - and I only can work to the parameters my boss gives me - we are 14th as it stands, we finished last season in 10th.

“Do we expect more in terms of having a bit more of a challenge? Of course we do. I do not think anyone denies that.

“But we have been incredibly thin and I think the players have worked terrifically hard just to keep themselves in a position where they can still have a run and a jump at it.

“We just want to make sure we take things incrementally in terms of the new players coming in, embedding them into how we want them to play.

“But lets also get into the top half and try and build from there, rather than having this focus on looking too far away, lets just try to make the top half first."

  • Sarll on tomorrow's game against Luton...

“In local derbies you are playing for more than just yourself, you are playing for your Monday to Friday banter at work and all of those things.

“You are playing for a little bit of justice in your local area so it is a big game and I really look forward to it.

“I went into the Kenilworth game really looking forward to it, I did not enjoy leaving there, but I go into this game enjoying it and hoping there is a really big crowd.

“You do not forget those (heavy defeats) so I think it is very natural as a human being to find that extra, because it was a tough time, a really tough time.

"Wwe spoke about it as a group of players then and we have spoken about it now.

“Luton always come in numbers as well, so it will make it a good atmosphere at the Lamex. It will be a big game and one where maybe we can right some wrongs.

“We have had some really positive performances and results against Luton in my four games against them and Saturday needs to be another positive result no doubt about that."
