Video & Quotes from the boss...

  • Sarll on the team getting their just rewards...

“I thought we really dominated the game, first half was a little bit closer but second half was all Stevenage.

“I thought we dominated the ball and I thought we defended pretty well. The goal (we conceded) is synonymous with the run we have been on away from home.

“I was so desperate to give the fans something to cling on to and go back with.

“It was a great moment from a great lad who has been really patient lately with his playing time, he goes in there with a little moment of magic and he secures a point for us.

“I don’t think we showed enough real vigour from set plays in the first half, we had lots of set plays, two direct free-kicks in particular which are normally Joe Martin’s speciality.

“But I thought we played okay, I thought we could still do a little bit more, again I just wanted us to be a bit more vigorous in the final third and force our way in.

“And luckily when the big centre half went up he was vigorous and he did force his way in.

“I am a little bit disappointed we haven’t won the game, because I thought our play deserved to have won the game.”

  • Sarll on Franks' equalising goal...

“Fraser is a terrific lad, I have had him for a long time now and he is very reliable and you know he is going to compete and contest for everything.

“I just thought when Newton came off, we just lost a bit of contestation in that final part of the pitch.

“You have got nothing to lose really. You lose by one, you might as well lose by two - it is the same amount of points.

“I thought, let's try something else. Just before, young Jamie went through and I thought that was a great chance.

“I am disappointed looking and reflecting now, I am disappointed we have not won the game with our chances we created.”

  • Sarll on being delighted for the supporters...

“They were brilliant today, absolutely brilliant. I think they could see we were the team on top, the only we had missed was a finishing touch.

“Matty hit the post first half from the header and it was just the kind of a day. I felt for Danny, he worked himself into the ground again and it was one of those days where nothing was going to come off for him technically.

“So it was important that we kept going at it and we kept trying to play our football and quite rightly in my eyes, we have taken something with us.

“I am delighted for the supporters mostly, because it was a long journey and we really appreciate their efforts.

“Like I said, I was desperate to make sure we got something for the supporters because I never appreciate them more than when we go to Morecambe, Carlisle and places like that."
