“We have worked so hard, three and half weeks it has been since it originally started.
“I know Alex from a previous club that we worked together at, so Alex and I have a decent long standing relationship.
“But I have to say Leon and I have had to work very hard to get this one finished and it has been well worth the wait because I know he will be a player of real importance to us."

“He is a very experienced player and his character is terrific, very demanding in terms of his character.
“But he has got a terrific record and he is that big centre forward I have always courted and never got quite right.
“This is the one that gets it right, I have been trying for two years for someone like Alex Revell and to get someone of his calibre, age, experience and still while he has the physical qualities that he has, it is a massive coup for the club."

“We have got real depth. It is probably the best three centre forwards, four with Ben, five with Alex, probably the best five we have ever had.
“Again it has been a long time coming, but we worked very hard to get to this point where obviously Matty has had 18 months, Danny is 6 months in, Alex has had 6 months, Ben Kennedy had 100 odd games, we are in a really good place.
“Alex has got hundreds of games now under his belt, so we have a nice range of experience, a nice range of ages amongst them, but the biggest thing for us is how many clubs Alex turned down to come to Stevenage.
“This was really driven through Alex and his willingness to come to Stevenage and wanting to come to Stevenage.
“He is a fairly local lad and Stevenage was the best club for him at this stage in his career and at this point, obviously with the relationship that we have together, it is a good move for him and Alex really made this happen."
