Video & Quotes from the boss...

  • Sarll on new signing, Luke Amos...

“Luke is someone who we have always watched, obviously being a Tottenham player it is fairly economical for us to watch him because of their use of the Lamex.

“I know everything about Luke as a player. Only known him obviously for a day as a lad and as a character.

“But I have always been very impressed by his energy and his athleticism, he brings a bit of tenacity that you do not see at U23 football and he has certainly got that.

“He knows everything about the club and obviously you get a real feel for the club even from an empty changing room.

“The culture of it, the atmosphere, the environment, all those things are distractions to a player making their debut - new setting, new surroundings, new group of players.

“Obviously Luke got a little bit of an advantage having been to The Lamex several times.

“It is a good signing for us and obviously we need to rebuild the squad a little bit, Luke certainly, along with Tom King and Ben Sheaf, is a positive step."

  • Sarll on tomorrow's game at home to Swindon...

“We worked yesterday with the players and are obviously trying to increase the recovery process and get them in and make sure they are all fit and healthy.

"We have had a little light session today, we cannot do too much with the numbers we have got. You lose one more and then we are desperately low.

“So it is an important time for recovery and to have fresh minds and fresh legs. We have been great at home; we have not been beaten in three odd months now at the Lamex.

“So we are looking forward to going back there, but we also know that Swindon are probably the best side in the league in terms of playing away from home.

“It will be a tough game and it will be a game for who has the right amount of physicality to their game post Saturday."

  • Sarll on improved form...

“The last five we have had 3 clean sheets, we have not scored loads and loads of goals but defensively, I think we are looking very solid.

"Tom King has made a terrific start to his time along with obviously young Ben Wilmot and that looks like a solid unit at the moment with good options.

“Obviously we have got Luke Wilkinson and Fraser Franks as well, so we are strong in that department.

“To have eight points from the first four games (of the year) is a pleasing collection for us. People say it is an up and down season, I see it as exactly the same to last year up to this point.

“We are hoping the rest of this half of the season can be as rewarding as the last half of last season.

“It is an important time now to kick forward, but we do need to recruit and we are going to need some extra quality and quantity in the building."
