Video & Quotes from the boss as Stevenage force a replay at Reading...
- Sarll on a superb performance...
“No disappointment from us, Stevenage are the winners today, Stevenage won the game, there is no doubt about that.
“Sometimes you get that lack of physical win in terms of the result and the score, but everything else apart from that was a win.
“They were all terrific, and what they did was they showed a terrific belief in each other because when someone made a decision out of there today - especially defensively - they backed it, believed it, went with it and we always came out on the right side.
“That was shown none other than the fact that really, Tom King’s debut was probably one of the quietest debuts to be had here.”
- Sarll on U18s Scholar, Ben Wilmot starting the game...
“It is only bold because you don’t see him everyday. Remember, he plays against Matty Godden everyday and I would say Matt is in the top three centre forwards of League Two.
“So if he he handles Matt everyday in training, why should we be worried?
“I think it just shows what we are as a club, it shows what we are in terms our of model and why we do things.
“And I thought that as manager, Ben would be perfect for this game, unlike maybe a Notts County or a Wycombe, somebody like that.
“You need to have players with an intelligence to see and read the game, not behind you, but in front of you.
“Reading so often try to play between the lines and in front of your back four, and I almost just wanted that midfield player like mentality to be able to step in and engage.
“Ben really did that for us and it has been long overdue may I add, because he has been magnificent all season and it is Glenn, Nicky and my opinion that he will go and play at the very, very highest level.
“You could say the same for McKee for today, it is a good time to be a young player at Stevenage."
- Sarll on the replay...
“No one will walk away from Stevenage today thinking that Reading won that game and Stevenage were lucky to get a replay.
“Reading are lucky to play us in 10 days time, that is the way I see it and it is not arrogant, it is not being cocky, I think it is the truth.
"I am not sure anyone in the stadium would disagree with me.
“The players will go away thinking that they are capable now, if they were determined before the game today then, they will feel capable at the Madjeski next time.
“It is a good place for us that allows us to be a more positive in our thinking and allows the player to be a bit more positive in their mind-set."
