Amos on arrival...
With just a couple of days to go until the close of the January Transfer Window, Stevenage have sealed the loan signing of midfielder Luke Amos from Spurs.
Speaking to the club shortly after the paperwork was finalised, Amos says he is excited for the challenge ahead.
“I am very pleased to get it done now I can get in some solid training," Amos confirmed.
"I am just happy to be here, it is a good opportunity for me, it is a good club and I can’t wait to get going.
“As soon as I heard about the opportunity, it was something I wanted to do.”
There are no secrets with Amos. Sarll and the management team have watched him play numerous times right here in Stevenage.
“Tottenham U23s play their games at the Lamex so it is a stadium I am familiar with.
“I am familiar with quite a few players that have been here - Ryan Loft, Connor Ogilive - so I know know quite a lot about the club.
“It is a stadium I have been to for the past two or three years so I know the environment. It will be completely different though, I am excited to get out there with all the fans for a proper game.”
Many players these days are pigeon-holed into a specific category, but Amos says he is an all-round midfielder that can do a bit of everything.
“I am a midfielder so I am a lot of hard work, tackling, running, passing. When I spoke to the manager, I was sold straight away. Especially as he knows what I am, he is bringing me in do that and it makes me feel even better.”
Registered in time to feature for tomorrow’s home clash with Swindon, Amos says his first training session went well.
“I enjoyed it. We did some five a side and obviously the lads had a game Saturday and a game tomorrow so there was a bit of prep but it was good for me and I enjoyed it. I am just looking excited to get going into a proper schedule.
“The lads are a good bunch so it is perfect.”
