  • Onto the game…

Things have been trending in a positive direction as of late with the team unbeaten in the league this year with two wins and two draws to start 2018.

The boys ended their long wait for an away win on Saturday with a fine 1-0 result over Chesterfield, whilst it has been 10 games in all competition unbeaten at home.

A win in tonight's game-in-hand could close the gap to the play-offs to just 6 points, some added motivation ahead of kick-off.

Swindon are a team full of confidence though with four wins out of five in the league, including Saturday's dramatic come-from-behind triumph against Crewe.

The Robins are a fierce proposition away from home, 9 wins, 0 draws and 4 defeats in the league this season is the best road record in the division.

Stevenage born Luke Norris is leading their goalscoring charts with 11 goals, including a brace in the corresponding league fixture between the two sides back in September.

  • Team news…

Ben Kennedy and Matty Godden were both taken off early against Chesterfield and could be doubts to make it for tonight's game.

The same goes for Joe Martin and Alex Samuel who both missed out at the weekend.

Jamie Gray and Chris Whelpdale are also both still recovering from recent injuries.

  • View from the camp...

Stevenage boss, Darren Sarll...

“It is an important time for recovery and to have fresh minds and fresh legs. We have been great at home; we have not been beaten in three odd months now at the Lamex.

“So we are looking forward to going back there, but we also know that Swindon are probably the best side in the league in terms of playing away from home.

“It will be a tough game and it will be a game for who has the right amount of physicality to their game post Saturday."

  • Previous meetings...

Swindon lead the all-time record against Stevenage with six wins to three, although Boro have come out on top in two of the last three meetings.

The first time the two sides met came back in 1998, when the Robins were in the second tier whilst Boro were in the conference. A memorable 2-1 win in the FA Cup that set up the now legendary tie against Newcastle.

Since then the Robins largely dominated meetings. Tonight's game will be the third between the two sides this season, a 3-2 defeat in the league at County Ground was answered with a 5-2 home win for the Super Boro in the FA Cup.
