Defender Ben Nugent has signed for Stevenage FC.
The former Gill turned down a new deal at Priestfield this summer before deciding to sign with Stevenage.
“I have got strong ties to the area so for me this is the perfect place to join,” Nugent said.
“My Dad played for the club and I have really enjoyed being around the place recently so I am really excited about getting started.”
Dino Maamria says he is the ideal centre-back to bring in.
“He is a proper defender,” Maamria said. "He heads it, he kicks it, he loves defending and I think we need that type of player in League Two.
“There is a lot of margin for improvement, he is at a good age and is also a natural left footer which we haven’t had for a while.
“He is local to us and we did really well to beat a couple of other clubs to his signature. He ticks a lot of boxes and will be a brilliant addition to our squad.”
Watch Ben next in action as Stevenage take on Coventry at the Lamex Stadium this Saturday 21st July at 2pm.
