Welcome to Stevenage, Donovan...
Donovan Makoma has signed for Stevenage FC after an undisclosed fee has been agreed with Barrow AFC.
The 19 year old French midfielder has now made the move official after spending the past few weeks with the club.
“I am very happy to be here and join this club. It is a great team and a great opportunity for me to play my football in the league.
“I would like to thank the Manager, Chairman and everyone who has helped support me.”
Manager Dino Maamria says that Makoma is a player with plenty of potential.
“I saw him last season for Barrow and he ran the show from midfield in terms of his athleticism, composure on the ball and work rate.
“This summer I had the opportunity to bring him down and we had a good look at him throughout pre-season. He is only 19 years old, is a huge asset for the future and has all the attributes to be a top player.
“We hope he will be pushing the first team right away but he is certainly somebody with a big future at the club.”
Watch Donovan and the rest of the players next Saturday as Stevenage take on Tranmere Rovers in the Sky Bet League Two Season Opener at the Lamex Stadium.
