Outgoing news...

Matty Godden has joined Peterborough United for a six figure undisclosed fee.

The 26 year old striker leaves after scoring 35 goals in 87 games for Stevenage having joined from Ebbsfleet on a free transfer in 2016.

Stevenage chairman Phil Wallace said a deal was expected within this transfer window.

"Matty has been great for us and the platform we’ve provided over the past 2 years has helped him to improve his earnings by moving up the pyramid, so I’m personally delighted for him.

"The fee and add-ons we received met our valuation, so everyone is happy. We’d like to thank Matty for his contributions to the club and wish him all the best in the future.

"We now need to get on with adding a few more lads to our squad. So far our summer work has been excellent with a blend of youth and experience, which we expect to continue through June and July."
