Video & Quotes from Stevenage's newsest addition...

  • Timlin on why he has joined the Boro…

“There were a few teams that were interested and Stevenage showed a lot of interest. I came to meet Dino - I have come across him as an assistant before – so I was really intrigued to know what he would be planning to do next season as the manager.

“We just hit it off. He comes across as a really honest guy, like myself. With the fantastic facilities too, everything seems to tick a box.

“I also came here because I feel as though the players he has already got and the one or two additions that he has made, we should be fighting for promotion next year and that is what I want to be doing.”

  • Timlin on a new beginning…

“Obviously I didn’t realise I would be leaving up to a point but these things happen in football. I had a fantastic time at Southend, was looked after really well and I progressed with the club.

“It is a fresh start now and I am really looking to it."

  • Timlin on his role…

“He wants me to be here as one of the senior players and to have an influence on the team and the very good youngsters coming through.

“It is mainly to just be myself. Be the player that I have been the last few years that he heavily likes and the pressure is on me now to rise to the occasion and make sure I can produce what I need to to get us where we need to go.”

  • Timlin on facing Stevenage in the past & that play-off clash in 2015...

“It was always a tough place to come. I don’t even remember winning at Stevenage and they always had good players over the years as well.

"We knew it was going to be tough in that play-off game and that we had to get a result in the first leg. Things can happen in play-off games that are out of your control. Thankfully it went our way, not for Stevenage, but hopefully it will this year for us.

“I am hugely looking forward to meeting all the players and seeing how we get on.”
