Video & Quotes from the boss ahead of Saturday's game at
- Sarll on Wilmot's England U19 selection...
“He thoroughly deserves it. We are very proud of him and we are also quite proud of ourselves – how he has come through and we can all for one very brief split second pat ourselves on the back.
“I am delighted for him. I know his family very well, his mum and dad are magnificent people.
“I hope he enjoys it, gets a lot out of it, plays, and comes back a better player.
“We are not silly. We are in the fourth division and he is going to play for England. Is there going to the elite clubs circling? Absolutely. At some point, we won’t be able to stop the momentum of that process.
“But whilst he is here, let’s enjoy watching him play, watching him grow and watching him become a fully seasoned first team player."
- Sarll on the aftermatch to the 2-2 draw with Crewe...
“Training on Sunday morning was an angry training session. We were not happy, no one was happy, that is their one day off in the week.
“I am not pleased when the club or the team come across as a bit weak, so I think that was the biggest disappointment.
“You only ever get angry when expectation are not met, if your expectations are high and you do not meet them you get angry.
"The week has been okay, numbers have been thin. We broke down Saturday's game and you move on.
“You have to move on. You cannot effect the past. You can only effect what is coming, and we are doing our very best to effect what is coming.
“They are a great group of people in that dressing room and they take things on the chin, we always come back punching."
- Sarll on Saturday's trip to Vale Park...
“They are all dangerous games, it is a big pitch, there is a lot of ground to cover when you play against Port Vale.
“We know a couple of their players very well, Michael Tonge, I worked with Tom Pope at a previous club.
“And you have to respect people like Michael Tonge and Pugh and players like that. They are good players, have had wonderful careers and are still going very strong with a high level of motivation may I add.
“It is a tough place to go Port Vale, it really is."
- Sarll on injuries & a squad update...
“It will be nice to just get Alex Revell back. A five-week suspension it has been, absolutely scandalous. We have one more game without him and then he will be available for Colchester.
“Obviously we have been without Godden, we have been without Alex Samuel, so we have been a little bit short in those forward areas.
“And add to that Bowditch’s injury when he came off Saturday has been a problem for us this week. Kennedy has been a bit of problem again physically, we have had a couple with illness, they should be okay.
“Ronnie Henry is injured although he might be able to make the bench. Godden should be able to make the bench, but it is still a flip of the coin.
“So, we have got a few unavailable really and obviously Ben Wilmot will be absent."
