Video & Quotes from the boss ahead of Saturday's home game...

  • Sarll on last week's postponement...

“I thought at the time it might allow us to recover a few little injuries, it has not progressed like that so we are nowhere further with that little list we had prior to the weekend.

“It was what it was. The staff had to work, the players had to train; it was a still a working day.

“We just had to move on, I do not think it has really swayed in our favour or against us.

“It gave the boys who have had to play a large amount of games, it gave a lot of the senior players an opportunity for their body to breathe and take the mental tiredness away.

“They have been very fresh this week, very vibrant, hopefully we will see a benefit come Saturday.”

  • Sarll on entering the final 10 games of the season...

“They will give it absolutely everything. It will not be for the one for trying. There are too many of our lads that are still trying to earn employment next year.

“And there is still a lot to do in terms of development of the squad and trying to build the longevity of it.

“That has probably been the success of this year, I think we will look back maybe next season or in a few years time and we will look at some of the players we have had this year.

“Especially the young lads, we can probably reflect on probably seeing some premier league footballers of the future in our side.

“We can all see Wilmot is going to have a big future, McKee has a good future ahead of him. We need to get Kennedy fit but we know he has real talent.

“I think we can look back on this season so far and probably see the start of some really great careers and I think that is the exciting thing.

“I think we need to step back at times and appreciate those individuals that we can see having a really big future in the game.

“Because they did start here at Stevenage and they owe Stevenage a lot.

“We all go back to when we saw George Boyd for the first time. I can go back to that time where I saw George train with the youth team and thinking ‘what a good player this lad is going to be.’

“We all go back to seeing Morison score his hat-trick, Bostwick or any of those types of players and we will relate to that retrospectively in the years to come."

  • Sarll on the weekend's game...

“I do not think I am being disrespectful by saying that, we expect to win. We have been great at home, we definitely enjoy our surroundings when we are at home.

“We have got a decent record at our place and we know that when we open up, we have opened up big at home.

“There is an expectation from the coaching staff and hopefuly from the supporters. I hope that we can open up again another and get another convincing victory.

“It is just an important game, it is just a massive game and we need to be fresh. We need to have fresh minds, fresh legs and we need to play at a speed and a tempo."
