Video & Quotes from the Manager ahead of Friday's trip to Blundell Park...

  • Dino on the week so far...

“We had a good meeting on Monday to start the week with and it was just a reflection on the weekend and the season as a whole.

“What we have got to realise is, as players especially, our form since 1st October is 23rd, joint with Grimsby. Only Barnet is worse than us.

“So, I think that was a big wake up call to everybody because that is the reality.

"To get better you need to first know where you are.

“You realise that and then you have a plan of action on what you are going to do about it.

“That is my mentality to it and I want the players to be the same. So those three things - fitness, organisation and playing with a bit more ambition and motivation.

“But it has been a good week and we have built on that throughout the week and that is what we are going to do more of today."

  • Dino on facing Grimsby...

“I know Grimsby very well from my days in the conference, it is always a difficult place to go.

“They have got a decent home record, but they are joint 23rd in the form table like us.

“It is going to be a tough game, no doubt about it. They will be fighting for their lives and so will we, without putting pressure on the players it is just as an important game that I think we are capable of winning there.

“They are where they are for a reason and we will make sure to capitalise on that, tomorrow is a different game.

“I want to wipe clean the slate from the past and it starts again tomorrow.

“I am sure they will be up for it, they are fighting for their lives like I said, but my focus is always on our players and our football club.

“I am going to send the team out there to be positive, to be attacking and get the three points tomorrow.

“I am not really bothered what they are going to throw at us, no disrespect to them, but I am just going to focus on our team and what we do."

  • Dino on the boys returning from International Duty & his message to the squad...

“I am going to have a chat with both Ben’s and Dale Gorman is back as well. I am looking forward to having those three in, I am not sure what they will be like for tomorrow’s game.

“I have got a couple of knocks from Ronnie this week and in Joe Martin and Jack King.

“But that does not bother me really because I just want 100% fit players.

“I am not scared putting anyone in the team, they have all got the same chance. Go and give me what you can in training and in games, and I will give you the shirt.

"Change is always difficult. No-one likes change because things have been alright, and there is too much of a comfort zone.

“I am just trying to ruffle a few feathers in terms of being positive, not trying to be negative with the players. They have got a lot more to give.

“That is what I am trying to do, I am trying to get them to play at their best. I know they have got their best in there somewhere as they have produced some fantastic results in the past this season and I want to get them back to that level.

“I have told everyone where I want us to be next season and that is the top end of this league, that is where I want to be.

“It is up to them to show me from now until the end of the season that they are willing to take that journey with me.

“If they are, that is brilliant. If not, they are going to be left behind and that is the message for everyone really - we are here to achieve things."
