Video & Quotes from the boss following Saturday's defeat to Colchester...
- Dino on the performance...
“I thought the players tried really hard first half in terms of pressing, in terms of energy and in terms of leg work.
“But I thought when we got the ball, we did not know what to do with it. We were rushing things, we did not show any composure on the ball or any creativity.
“I thought second half was much better, especially after the changes.
“I thought Tom Conlon and Luke Amos made a positive difference and I thought we finished the game strongly.
“So, we will definitely get better. It was poor to concede the goal how we did, because I have been working the last few days on defending those crosses.
“I went to watch Colchester on Tuesday and that really is their game. They put a lot of early crosses in the box and we had been doing that in training last couple of days to deal with that.
“Having said that, I thought we finished the game strongly in the second half and we could have nicked a draw."
- Dino on the big occasion getting to the players…
“I cannot really blame the players for that, there has been a lot of excitement.
“They knew there was a lot of excitement with the fans and everything else, and they went out almost too eager to impress.
“And sometimes when you put that much energy into it, you end up not knowing what to do because you just want to run.
“I told them at half-time, ‘I want you to just relax and play football’.
“Just show a bit more quality and composure on the ball and I thought we did that in the second half."
- Dino on searching for the winning formula...
“I tried to change things a couple of times during the game, I went to a diamond and then I went to 4-3-3.
“The problem with that is when you only spend two days with a team, you do not really know what players can give and what they can't give.
“You end up changing things in the game to see what is the best system to suit those players and that is what I am trying to find out at the minute.
“I am trying to find what is the best shape and who are the best players to put out on the pitch to win football matches.
“Change is not easy, but like I said, I think there was too much eagerness from the players today to impress.
“We will regroup, we will get together and we will be much better on Friday no doubt about it."
