  • Onto the game…

Excitement has been building all week for Dino Maamria’s first game in charge following the announcement of his appointment as Manager on Tuesday.

After meeting the players for the first time on Tuesday, Dino took his first training session on Thursday where he put the players through their paces.

The new Manager has already said he expects to build a winning team and that three points on Saturday would be the perfect start.

Colchester are hanging onto their play-off hopes by a thread and will see tomorrow’s game as a must-win if they are to make a late push into the post-season.

Currently nine points away from 7th place, expectations have not quite been met following relegation from Sky Bet League One two season’s ago.

  • Team news…

Ben Wilmot, Dale Gorman and Ben Kennedy are all away on International Duty so Dino will have a depleted selection of players to choose from for his first game as Manager.

Alex Revell is finally back from his four game suspension whilst Ronnie Henry could also return to action following an injury which has kept him out during the last few weeks.

Mark McKee has been recovering from a minor knock and as such, didn’t travel with Northern Ireland whilst Matty Godden is expected to remain sidelined.

There is good news to finish off though in that Alex Samuel is due back in training on Monday.

  • View from the camp...

Stevenage boss, Dino Maamria:

“I want to get the Lamex bouncing again. I think together we have got to do that from the ground staff, from the office staff, from my players and from my staff.

"As a football club, I think we have got to go forward and I think it is time we began, because it has been a long time since the club has been up there and that is my job.

"I have to bring those happy times back."
