Excerpts from the Chairman's programme notes...
- On defeat at Meadow Lane last time out...
"We came away from the game at Notts County two weeks ago with nothing, despite a good performance overall. The match played out much the same as many other away games this season – we played well but lost.
"This was disappointing after the good win at home to Yeovil and one wonders when this trend of being the better team away but not winning the points will end."
- On hoping for another strong showing at home...
"Anyone that watched the game against Yeovil would have been impressed – we had everything, including some spectacular goals worthy of a much higher level of football, despite Matt Godden and Alex Revell both being unavailable for the game due to illness and suspension respectively.
"That level of performance at home will absolutely get floating fans back through the turnstiles and I would hope that we can build on this and progress.
"What we must do is focus on ourselves – we want to win every game and finish the season strongly. It is important we allow the quality we’ve got to dominate the opposition and do what is necessary to win the points. Support from our fans is imperative in that regard so let’s get behind the lads today and give them every bit of support possible."
- On the North Stand…
"Work on the North Stand ground to a halt due to the weather. There is not much you can do when the ground is frozen solid, so we have used the time to obtain Geotechnical Reports on the soil and fine tune the build specs.
"We are still hoping to get the basic stand ready for the 2018/19 season, but I suspect it will be more like August/September now."
