Dino welcomes his second summer signing...
Just two weeks into the off-season and Dino Maamria has already recruited his first two players as manager of the football club.
First in the door was box-to-box midfielder, James Ball, who arrived from Stockport for an undisclosed fee.
Then today right-back Luther Wildin signed with the club following an impressive season under Maamria at Nuneaton Town.
Speaking about the 20 year old, Maamria says signing him was an immediate priority.
“I am delighted to secure his services first and foremost. He was a bright-spot as soon as I got to Nuneaton and I was thinking, ‘What is this player doing at this level?’.
“He is athletic, he can run all day, defensively he is very good one-on-one and he gives us options moving forward as well.
“He is a very good ball carrier and that is the type of full-back I am looking for, so he ticks a lot of boxes. He is a hungry boy, he wants to do well, he is very ambitions and all those things are in-line with what we stand for as a football club"
When asked about Wildin's stand-out attribute, Dino says it is his appetite to grow as a player.
“He is willing to learn and improve all the time. One of the things that I developed in his game was that he was a very good defender and he got into the final third a lot with the ball, but his end-product needed developing.
“We worked on that in training and he ended up scoring two goals towards the back end of the season, so that tells me the player is developing.
“He adds some value to what we have here and he will add some pace to the team, which is much needed.
“He is a good age for us, he has a lot to learn but he will be a starter if he is fit and everything else. He will be brilliant for us."
