Video & Quotes from the boss...

  • On exiting the competition...

“It is my first experience as a Manager in the Checkatrade Trophy and I didn’t really get the competition. It is a difficult one. You need a strong squad to compete, you don’t know what you are playing against an it is really difficult to judge.

“We had a tough game on Saturday, I had to look after a few players so I made eight changes and sometimes you get that, even though the goals were really poor.

“I thought actually there were a lot of good performances there. It is funny, you lose 4-0 and there were a lot of good things. They scored the goals, we didn’t.”

  • On moving onto bigger things...

“It is one competition for us too far. Our squad is not big enough or strong enough to deal with it and we will learn from it. We played one or two youngsters through it and we will move on.

“I think we have got bigger fish to fry, starting this weekend in the FA Cup and then the league. Those two competitions and the ones we focus on.”

  • On Saturday's FA Cup clash at Plymouth...

“It is a tough game. Ideally you want a home tie but we have got Plymouth away.

"It is not just an away game, but it is far away game too. It is a game we have to prepare for in the best possible way. We have got to be brilliant to win it and I will have to prepare the team to be brilliant to win on Saturday. We will have to be at our best.”
