Cuthbert: "We keep on passing these tests"

After picking up a sixth home win of the season against MK Dons on Saturday, centre-back Scott Cuthbert lauded the home advantage that the Lamex Stadium creates...

Cuthbert helped sparked the comeback win with a 85th minute equaliser and the Man of the Match winner says it was a victory that was fully warranted by the performance.

"We back ourselves against anyone at home, we know that teams don’t like coming here. The crowd made great noise, we make it horrible for teams and it is a fantastic result.

"MK Dons have come here in great form. They have got really, really good players, they are a strong team and I thought we were the far better team in the second half.

"They scored against the run of play and we are just absolutely delighted to get the two goals and I think we thoroughly deserved it."

Faced up against some of the best attacking players in the league, Cuthbert says that it was a challenge he and his teammates were up to.

"When you are attacking, they kind of cheat, the forwards. They stay up and they don't track back. That causes you problems, you are having to hold on to maybe a full-back or a centre mid and they are a good team, they are good at what they do.

"I feel like we dealt with them well. Once we got to grips with them, we dealt with them very well and actually as a defender, I was disappointed with the two goals we conceded. Having said that, we have beaten top of the league, we are one point off of third now so we are absolutely delighted."

Finally, Cuthbert says that another win against another top team in this league will only give more and more belief to the team.

"I said to the press on Thursday that every time we come up against a top team, people are saying that this will be a big test to see how far you have come.

"We keep on passing these tests and we keep on doing well against these top teams and it gives us a lot of belief that we are good enough and deserve to be up there challenging against these teams.

"If we play like that at home, no-one is going to like coming to Stevenage and playing against us with the way we play and we are going to get results."
