Video & Quotes from Michael Timlin...

  • On a tough result to take...

“It was very frustrating. Had we not had any chances during the game and did not show a fight and rollover, we would hold our hands up and say that was not good enough. But, I think the crowd could see, and we knew ourselves, that we would get chances. We probably had more chances today than in the previous few home games and that is what is so hard to take.

“Credit to Crewe, they have come and done a job on us, but we feel as though the sending off has cost us today. We have to focus on ourselves though and we showed a good attitude to carry on with the fight.

"It is bitterly disappointing because after losing at Newport, we wanted to show a reaction and we hope we showed the crowd that. The crowd was unbelievable today, they stood by us all the way to the end.”

  • On a good effort to get back into it...

“We have to show the belief that even if we do go down to ten men, that we have still got a lot in us. I think we were the stronger team towards the end, we were the ones who were pressing it. They were the ones who were keeping it in the corner. I think that shows our attitude.

“We are determined to try and fight for everything that is on the line. We have to dust ourselves down and not dwell on the negatives.

“It was not our day today, but we feel as though we are heading in the right direction. Things are starting to work for us now, and if lady luck was on our side we would have scored three or four."

  • On bouncing back against Port Vale...

“We have to make sure that we turn up in our numbers, be on the front foot, and make sure we apply ourselves. I know that we will turn up on Tuesday because we are so disappointed about today’s result, especially with how long we had to work hard for.

“We will get that out of our heads in the next night or so, and make sure when we come in on Monday preparing for Tuesday that we are really at it.

"We have to roll our sleeves up now, come against Port Vale on Tuesday and scrap for everything. However we get the result, we have to get it. Three points is all that matters.”
