Video & Quotes from the boss following Saturday's three points...

  • Dino on a return to winning ways...

“A fantastic three points. A good performance from us for 75 minutes. We did a lot of work with the ball at the training ground this week. More retention and a little bit more leg work, fitness-wise because we have been playing a lot of Tuesday - Saturday games so I couldn’t really get as much training into them.

"That is always the problem with the start to the season. You get a new team, and we have played about six or seven Saturday - Tuesdays and you don’t get enough time with the players at the training ground.

"This week has been a good week for us, we have spent a lot of time on the training ground, working on the things we need to work on, and I thought for 75 minutes we were fantastic."

  • Dino on a patient first half...

“Last couple of games we have been so desperate to do well, we were just getting the ball back-to-front and that’s all we did, we forgot to play football. Today, we were patient.

"We have been working on possession all week, how to build up play from the back, playing in certain areas of the pitch, spreading the pitch out as big as possible in possession and be patient in possession as well. When we get the ball in the attacking third, let’s retain it.

"I thought we did that fantastically, especially Ben Kennedy. Him and Luther Wildin in the first half, they were fantastic in that area in the first half. It was good to see the players application.”

  • Dino on strong defending to see out the game...

“You have got to always expect the unexpected. They have got a long throw from both sides of the pitch, you have seen how big their players were, and sometimes you’ve got to adapt to that. They have gone to play that game, they are desperate for a point or three, and they threw everything at it.

"What is important is how we dealt with that. I thought we could have dealt with it better in terms of possession of the ball, but the way we defended, Scott Cuthbert and Ben Nugent, they put their bodies on the line.”

"In the last 15 minutes, they threw a lot of bodies forward. They are a big team, it was like land of the giants with their subs. They put four forward, and their back four was all six foot plus. A lot of throw ins, a lot of deep free-kicks, a lot of corners, and we defended that and I thought we were very resilient. We dealt with their threat very well.”
