Congratulations Liam...

16 year old Academy player, Liam Smyth has been called up for International Duty with Northern Ireland U19s.

It is the young strikers first official call-up after taking part in a Northern Ireland U19 training camp back in March, and he will be in contention for friendlies against Slovakia on Wednesday 5th September and Friday 7th September 2018.

Smyth has long been a stand-out prospect and Academy Manager, Robbie O’Keefe says he has deserved this opportunity.

“It is a great reward for Liam and one that he and we should be very proud of.

“He is a quiet, hard-working lad who has loads of development left him so it is exciting to think he has gained an International call-up so quickly, yet we feel he has so much more that has yet to be seen.

“The Academy staff have an enormous amount of faith in Liam, as they do in all of the players, and we are certain he will enjoy the experience and do himself and the club proud.”
