Video & Quotes from the boss after the 1-0 win over Grimsby...

  • On a good day all round...

"It is a good clean sheet, a good three points against a difficult team - they are all difficult.

"They fought for their lives and they have got a manager fighting for his job. They came in with a 4-5-1, they were playing for the point and it was frustrating at times but we kept at it, stuck to the game plan, played possession based football and we opened them up in the 83rd minute with a great goal from the full back.

"We created a lot of chances which was good to see but i thought we should have been more clinical. It was unfortunate one way or another, they put their bodies on the line, their keeper made some great saves and we hit the post twice, but we got there in the end."

  • On Steve Seddon's goal...

"I have always wanted an attacking full back, I want a full back that will give me width to provide us with an attacking threat as well as defence work.

"I thought Seddon did both today, he kept a clean sheet and scored, it was a perfect afternoon for him."

  • On a well earned clean-sheet for Dieng on his league debut...

"We had 15 shots and they had 1, but he came for a lot of crosses and balls in the box from long throws and from a lot of corners and free-kicks.

"We had Seny today who came in and was very brave and dealt with everything. His distribution was good, he got us on the front foot at times and it was a good performance from him.

"That is our fourth clean sheet of the season, they get you promotion, so our base is to keep clean sheets and I thought we defended pretty well today."
