We are pleased to announce that the Stevenage FC Equity Offering, the first of its kind in English football, closed on Wednesday Night, with applications from over 150 individuals to become new Shareholders of the Club...
Whilst all applications still need to be validated, fans and investors from around the world have subscribed for over £300,000 of Shares in Stevenage FC.
The new funds will be invested into the 2019/20 playing budget to support the push for promotion in the coming season, which starts in earnest on Saturday away to EFL League Two newcomers Salford City FC, before welcoming Exeter City FC to the newly revamped Lamex Stadium next weekend.
Chairman Phil Wallace commented, “Our goal was to raise the funds we needed to have a proper go at promotion, and we’ve achieved that. This is the first time a Club has offered Shares in this way, so we didn’t really know what to expect, but it’s a testament to the excitement around the Club and the potential for the future. On top of the £600,000 bond for the North Stand, that makes nearly a million invested into the Club. That is incredible for a Club of our size and makes me very proud.”
The offering also attracted an extraordinary amount of coverage from within the football world and beyond, in both national and international media, raising the profile of Stevenage FC as an innovative and ambitious club.
Wallace concluded, “We would like to thank everyone who has supported the Club through making an application and look forward to welcoming our new Shareholders in the very near future!”
