Boro welcome fellow play-off hopefuls Forest Green Rovers to The Lamex Stadium on Saturday with both sides fresh from the taste of victory last-time out...

Midfield-man Joel Byrom has been a main-stay in the team all season and he reflected on what has been a very good period for the team.

“It has been a positive week after a good result at the weekend away to Morecambe. It has been said that we have struggled away at home so it was fantastic to go and get a late winner, it has just made it a happy place here this week.

"We have worked hard again looking towards the game this weekend and hopefully we can get another positive result.

“We have got ourselves in a strong position at the end of January where we have got a fighting chance of making the play-offs with two home games coming up.

“I think it is up to us to keep the momentum going and look towards Forest Green at the weekend to try and get another three points.

“We have got a great chance if we just look at each game at a time and concentrate on ourselves.”

Byrom has plenty of respect for Saturday's opponents after an outstanding start to the season from Mark Cooper's men. As has often been the case though when facing off with the stronger teams in the division, Byrom expects home advantage to play its part.

“They are a very, very good team. They play nice football and the manager (Mark Cooper) has been known throughout his career to play this style of football.

“When we went to their place they were very good with us not being at our best, but I think them coming to The Lamex is a different proposition altogether.

“Even the first time I was here, six or seven years ago, it was a difficult place to go and when I have come here as an away player, it has been a hard place to play. We have got to play on that.

“Especially teams that like to come and play football, it is very difficult to do it on a smaller type of pitch.

“We have got a lot of energy and we have got players that can make a difference at the top end of the pitch."
