Excerpts from the Chairman's Programme Notes...

  • On the January Transfer Window & beyond...

"It has been a week of frantic activity with the Transfer Window now open. We must focus on what is needed in terms of moving out players the management do not want, as well as seeing what is available to improve us.

"Funds are tight as we are already running over budget, but we have specific players in mind and have moved to try and secure them.

"We would like to keep Steve Seddon at the club, but that is out of our hands and we do have a couple of players targeted that could give us a lift.

"With cups out of the way, we must believe we can push into the play-off places during the next few months. A few back-to-back wins can transform the league table and if we can do that, anything is possible."

On the North Stand & New Scoreboard...

"I feel that each time I write these notes I must comment on the new North Stand. I was hoping to be sitting here today with contractors back on site, but that is not the case as UK Power still have been unable to re-route the live cables to the new substation provided for them. It is imminent, but all we can do is keep pushing.

"On a positive note, I do hope that during this coming week, we will be able to fit the replacement LED scoreboard above the South Stand.

"This is a smaller version than the previous one, designed to complement the bigger 5m x 3m LED screen being positioned at the North-East corner of the stadium at the end of this season."
