“We can’t disclose how much has been raised so far as it could impact on discussions we are having with bigger investors, but it’s going really well. This is a first for an English club, we didn’t know if people would take up the offer. But the response has been very good, which is really exciting.”
Since the Club confirmed it would enable the conversion of Stevenage Bonds into Shares, many Bondholders have submitted requests to convert.
Wallace also confirmed that the Club’s activity in the transfer window has been positively impacted by the investment in the Stevenage FC Equity Offer.
“I’m very happy with the first team recruitment to date, and our pre-season performances have been really positive," Wallace said.
"The progress we have made on the share sale has helped us strengthen – the investment so far has gone into bringing several high quality and experienced League One & Championship players into the squad, as well as strengthening the First Team Management Team with experienced coaching staff.”
Finally, Wallace urged those considering making an investment to get behind the Club and be part of the push for promotion.
“We have several signings we would still like to make. The recruitment strategy has been carefully considered to ensure the squad has a blend of experience, youth, talent and ambition. Of course, we want to give ourselves the maximum chance of success, and we will have the time to do it after the Share Offer is finished. Bringing more Shareholders on-board will definitely help us in assembling a squad capable of challenging for promotion.”
