Alex Revell says that he and his teammates are ready to face the challenge of Bury on Saturday as the divisions form team comes to the Lamex Stadium…

Late heroics meant for a salvaged point at Oldham last Saturday but Revell believes that the squad will need to up their levels in-order to come away with a win against the Shakers.

“It has been a good week. We have managed to recharge the batteries and even though Christmas time seems a long time ago, we have played a lot of games and I think that on Saturday in the second half we lacked a bit of energy but we managed to get the draw in the end and it is a fantastic point now looking back to be honest.

“We have to be at our best. Simple as that. Anything else and it will be a tough game. They are a really good side and up there for a reason but they are coming to us and our home form is vital coming into this last period. This is where the going gets tough and we have to really focus now if we want to make it into that top 7. We have to go on a run and there is no better time than starting it with one of the top two coming to town on Saturday.”

Two home games within four days provides Stevenage with a platform to pick up points in the search for a top seven spot. Revell says that although it is a prospect that excites the squad, it is vital that all concentration goes into Saturday’s fixture.

“We are all looking forward to the game and to the next week. We know that there are big games coming up but we have to take each one as it comes and Saturday is a massive game for us. Not just for positioning but because of what happened when we went up there. The display that we put on wasn’t good enough and we need to put that right.

“We have to turn up Saturday, that is the most important thing. Tuesday at the minute seems a long way away now and I know it comes round quick but Saturday is massive. We will be ready, recharged and everyone has come in nice and focused. We are really looking forward to the challenge."
