Hertfordshire Building Control informed the Club yesterday that they are unable to provide the Safety Advisory Group with the relevant sign offs required to issue a safety certificate for the new 1400 seater North stand in time for this Saturday’s home match against Grimsby Town...
The club delivered the safety calculations on Tuesday, but HBC say they are unable to verify these figures prior to Saturday’s game. As far as the Club are concerned, all other safety requirements are in place.
Chairman Phil Wallace said, "We just have to keep going. The stand and supporter concourse is ready, HBC have the structural calcs and we are keen to do our soft opening so we can test the facilities under the stand, but we understand there is a long process to securing safety certification and it involves several levels of compliance.
"We have no choice but to now set our sights on the home game against Morecambe on 26th October for the soft opening."
As per previous fixtures this season, North Stand Season Ticket Holders can obtain a complimentary ticket for the West Stand or East Terrace from the Club Shop or Ticket Office in advance of the match upon presentation of their Season Ticket Card.
The Club Shop/Ticket Office is open from 10am-7pm on Thursday 10th October 2019 and 10am-5pm on Friday 11th October 2019, as well as on Saturday 12th October 2019 between 10am–3pm.
