Dean Wilkins appointed Assistant Manager

18 December 2020

Stevenage Football Club has today confirmed that former Brighton Manager Dean Wilkins will be joining the Club as Assistant Manager...

Wilkins brings a wealth of managerial experience to the Club and is recognised as an outstanding coach, holding a UEFA A licence for almost 20 years and a UEFA Pro licence for almost 10 years.

He served as both an Assistant Manager and a Manager over a 10 year period at Brighton, moving on to spend 4 years as Assistant Manager at Southampton working with both Alan Pardew and Nigel Adkins and being part of the Saints Management Team that won consecutive promotions from League One to the Premier League. Wilkins was then part of the Management Team with Adkins that later moved on to Reading and then Sheffield United until 2016, when Chris Wilder took over the Blades.

His last role was as Head of Coaching at Crystal Palace and now looks forward to working with Stevenage Manager Alex Revell again.

Revell said, "Dean is not only a top coach but his experience as an Assistant Manager and Manager over 400 odd games will be invaluable to us. I played for him at Brighton and saw first hand how he can develop players and a winning team. I am delighted to have him with me every day to help us restructure our team and start delivering the results we all want to see."

Dean will join up the Stevenage squad following COVID clearance.
