Loan Report: Cowley's Moors fall to defeat at Reid's Daggers

24 February 2020

A weekly round-up of our players out on loan…

Jason Cowley played 72 minutes as his side Solihull Moors succumbed to a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Dagenham & Redbridge on Saturday, falling to two first half goals at Victoria Road.

Alex Reid, who joined Daryl McMahon’s Daggers in January, could only make the bench as a Brundle and Balanta double moved them a point clear of the drop zone.

After signing for Braintree Town in time for kick-off on Saturday, Arthur Iontton joined fellow youngsters Liam Smyth and Jack Smith at The Iron ahead of their clash away at Hungerford Town. Iontton and Smith both started and completed 90 minutes, while Liam Smyth came on early in the second half as the National League South side fell to a 2-0 defeat, dropping to 23rd in the table.

In the same division, Jamie Fielding had a bittersweet afternoon for St Albans City, who came from behind on the South Coast to overcome Havant & Waterlooville 2-1 and pick up a well earned three points. Fielding, however, was forced off on the half hour mark after sustaining an unfortunate knock.

Cray Wanderers and Joel Rollinson continued their rich vein of form with a 1-0 win at East Thurrock, picking up their fifth consecutive away win in the league and remaining undefeated in 2020. The Wands move up to fourth in the Isthmian Premier League and are now four points clear inside the play-off spaces.

Jamie Jellis’ Wingate & Finchley also pressed on with a good run by picking up another victory in the Isthmian Premier, getting the better of Folkestone Invicta with a 1-0 away win. The North London Blues are now five unbeaten in the league, as their battle for survival continues.
