Stevenage Football Club is dedicating its Stevenage vs Walsall Matchday to Women in Football...
Stevenage FC Women and Girls Development Centre players will be in-attendance for the match as we showcase the superb female talent that represents the Club at all ages.
Both sets of players will take to the pitch at half-time, where they will speak to PA Host Jamie Drackford and embark on a lap of honour.
The main focus of Saturday's Matchday though is to call attention to Stevenage FC Women's fundraising efforts.
Stevenage FC Women are raising funds in-order to help maintain the running costs of the Club going forward. A bucket collection will be taking place around the ground whilst supporters can also donate to their JustGiving page by clicking here.
Women & Girls Project Officer at Stevenage Football Club Foundation, Dani Toyn said, "We are really hoping to raise some valuable funds for the Women’s team through the launch of our crowdfunding page and Saturday's bucket collection.
"All raised funds will help support the day-to-day running of the Women’s team such as facility hire for training and matches, referee fees, travel expenses and equipment.
"Stevenage FC Women have relied on player sponsorship and player subs after failing to secure a club sponsor for this season and looking ahead to next season, we are looking for a local business who may be interested in supporting the development of Women’s football through sponsoring the squad and assisting with the purchase of training and match kit as the Main Club Sponsor."
Stevenage FC Women are aiming for Hertfordshire County Cup glory on Sunday 15th March when they take on Watford Ladies at The County Ground, Letchworth. The Women have made it to the final in each of the last five seasons, winning silverware on three occasions.
