Stevenage Football Club have appointed Michael Nelson to its Coaching Staff...
The 39 year old arrives from Gateshead where he has been Player Coach since the Summer. He has enjoyed a long and successful playing career spanning over 700 games with spells at several clubs including Hartlepool, Scunthorpe, Norwich City, Hibernian, Kilmarnock, Cambridge and Barnet.
The new Managerial Team have previously worked together at Barnet, with Westley appointing Nelson to Assistant upon his arrival at the Club.
“I am very excited to get started, Nelson said. “It is a fresh challenge for me, I have worked with Graham before and I really looking forward to doing so again.
“It is an important time for the Club. There are some big games coming up and it is about getting everyone to pull in the right direction. The Manager seems to have instilled some of his beliefs into the players and you can see that with the resilience they have been showing.
“It is about getting the attacking side going now and start winning some games.”
Michael Nelson’s first match in the dug-out will be on Saturday 18th January 2020 for Stevenage’s match at Cambridge United.
