Express interest in upcoming Academy Trials

7 July 2020

Stevenage FC’s Elite Player Pathway can reveal the first steps in their preparation for the 2020/21 season with the announcement of an open trial for potential new players...

Following on from the previous success of similar trials, the Elite Player Pathway is inviting interested U7-16 grassroots players to register their interest for the trial process, that will commence once it is deemed safe to do so by Government and The FA.

Successful players will be offered one of the following:

  • A place in our Development Centre (Players would continue to play for their grass roots club and train with SFC once a week)
  • A place in our Advanced Development Centre (Players would continue to play for their grass roots club and train with SFC once a week)
  • A place in our Emerging Talent Programme (Players would continue to play for their grass roots club and train with SFC once a week)
  • An Academy Trial

Elite Player Pathway Manager Tom Farr said, “After a difficult few months for all we are pleased to finally be able to start planning for the upcoming 2020/21 season. As you may be aware, there is a lot more that goes on at our Shephalbury training ground than just our Academy squads.

"Feeding into our academy set up, we have a detailed development pyramid which includes our newly designed Development Centre, Advanced Development Centre & Emerging Talent Programme. All of these groups follow the same philosophy, coaching syllabus and playing style as all the academy teams, whilst being coached by our young, enthusiastic academy coaches who understand the values of not only the academy, but the football club as a whole, ensuring that we don’t just develop players, but people for the community as well.

"At times like this we have seen the unbelievable contributions and engagement from our players and are proud of their conduct throughout. We pride ourselves on development of players and try to progress as many players through the pathway as we can. Following on from the success of the previous trials, we can’t wait to welcome you back and provide more opportunities for talented players."

If you would like to register your interest in trialling for Stevenage FC’s Player Pathway, then please complete the online Expression of Interest Form and once it is safe to do so, trials will be arranged and players will be notified of the proposed dates, times and payments methods.

Trial entry costs £5 and feedback will be given to all participating trialists.

Please note that the trials will take place at Shephalbury Sports Academy, Broadhall Way, Stevenage, SG2 8NP, the home of Stevenage FC Academy.
