Lennie Lawrence joins Management Team

1 June 2020

Stevenage Football Club is pleased to announce that Lennie Lawrence has joined the Club as Alex Revell's Managerial Consultant...

Holding the experience of 1,100 games as a Manager and a further 600 as an Assistant Manager/Advisor, Lennie will be closely involved in the day to day football management of the Club, as well as being part of the Matchday team when football returns. He joins from Newport County AFC where he has enjoyed a highly successful period in a similar position with Michael Flynn, helping guide them to last season's League Two Play Off Final and on multiple high-profile cup runs.

Speaking about the appointment Chairman Phil Wallace stated, "Lennie is one of the most experienced individuals in the game. We are delighted he’s agreed to becoming involved day to day in the re-shaping of the First Team, working with Alex and helping develop him as a young manager.

"Over the last decade Lennie has worked with and improved a number of successful managers including Paul Trollope, Dougie Freeman and Michael Flynn. We believe this appointment is a positive step in helping us rebuild to gain success on the pitch."

Lennie will join Manager Alex Revell as part of his backroom team upon either the recommencement of the 2019/20 season or the start of the 2020/21 season.
