Community Kitchen Sandwich Service details revealed

18 March 2020

Stevenage Football Club has today announced its initial plans as part of its Community Kitchen service...

Part of the Club’s Over 70s Coronavirus Community Careline, the Community Kitchen will launch as a daily sandwich service to those at risk and/or over 70 years old who are in self-isolation and may be unable to prepare their own lunch or snacks.

An initial 100 sandwiches a day will be delivered to those in need within the town, with preparation taking place in the Club’s kitchen and delivery by the staff from the Club and Stevenage FC Foundation.

As the Club begins its preparation for this service, it is asking local businesses - in particular cafes, pubs and restaurants - to help by donating food for this service.

Donations of bread, spread and sandwich fillings are required to supplement the Club’s own supply chain it is currently putting in place with local businesses.

If you are able to make a donation, please email care@stevenagefc.com and a member of staff will arrange a delivery or collection slot.

The booking line for the sandwich service will open at 10am on Monday with details of the Club’s Community Careline number being released over the weekend.
