As part of the Stevenage FC & Foundation Winter COVID Commitment, the Foundation is launching a series of digital sessions to continue to provide opportunities for our local community with a variety of online sessions each week to keep you active and engaged...
The weekly sessions will see a number of our normal face to face sessions move online, facilitated by Foundation staff to keep you moving and socialising during the coming winter months.
Those sessions include:
- STRENGTH & BALANCE CLASSES
Classes are 45 minutes long and designed for individuals wanting to improve their strength and balance while learning some new exercises to help maintain independence. The classes are suitable for people who haven’t exercised before or who have started to experience a decline in their physical ability.
- CLUB CUPPA
Want to talk about the game at the weekend or have a question for one of our special guests? Supporter Liaison Officer, Matt Gray will host a weekly chat for Stevenage FC fans to talk all things Stevenage FC over a "cuppa". In coming weeks we'll have some special guests include backroom staff and first team players too!
- WALKING FOOTBALL FITNESS
Lead by Community Participation Manager, Lorna Wormald and Senior Community Coach, Luke Foster, the one hour session aims to get you moving and keep you active linking exercises and activities to our Walking Football sessions.
- WALKING FOOTBALL CATCH UP
Hosted by Senior Community Coaches, Poppy Bennett, Rhys Shekle, Noel Sritharan and Luke Foster, the popular Zoom catch ups are for our Walking Footballers or anyone over 50 who simply wants to keep in touch during the lockdown period and socialise with other participants.
- INTRO TO EXERCISE
These classes are aimed at people who need a bit of help getting back into things with a variety of activities to keep you active during the lockdown period and winter months. All classes are adaptable to your ability & take any medical conditions into account in this friendly, fun environment showing the benefits of exercise.
- KICKS CATCH UP
For our younger participants, if you're aged 14-19 and wanting to chat with mates from our Premier League Kicks programme that you don't get to see at school or college then we'll be hosting a weekly catch up twice a week. These sessions will be hosted by Lorna Wormald and Luke Foster. Coming soon we'll also be offering an eSports competition too so stay tuned!
