Winter COVID Commitment to the Community starts today

9 November 2020

Following the clubs announcement on Friday regarding further support to the local community during the Winter months, the following will be live effective immediately...

The Club and Foundation will begin to roll out a variety of initiatives which have been highlighted in conjunction with key local partners, aimed at addressing both the short and long term issues which are likely to arise over the winter months.

COVID Support Line – 01438 223223 - Option 1 - Monday to Friday from 10am til 4pm

The Stevenage Football Club and Stevenage FC Foundation COVID Support Line will provide members of the community with a direct service to help provide information and support in multiple means, including prescriptions services, food sourcing and other concerns.

Our Friendly Chat Line will also be available on this number to anyone over 18 in need of a general chat, as well as seeking additional support, expanding the work delivered by the Foundation as part of the EFL Trust’s Tackling Loneliness Together initiative.

Digital Community Sessions

Stevenage FC Foundation will remain committed to engaging with its participants through the means of digital sessions across its current delivery programme. In addition, a new weekly 'Club Cuppa' chat session is to take place on Monday's at 11am for supporters aged over 60. For more info on this, please email chat@stevenagefc.com. The first weekly timetable for all digital sessions will be released later today.

Activity Packs

Activity packs will be distributed to children at Key Stage 1 & 2 levels, as well as to teenagers, and adults who are vulnerable and lonely, in an effort to increase individual engagement and interaction levels.

Fundraising Initiatives

The Club and Foundation have committed to help support a variety of local fundraising initiatives including those being run by the Lister Hospital, Stevenage Borough Council and local food banks.

The Club helped inject a new spirit into the community during the last lockdown and were privileged to receive a Pride of Stevenage Award for its efforts. It’s our intention to make sure this community role is continued during times of need.
